Is Linkrail really 100% free?

Yes. Every feature you see — unlimited redirects, regex matching, login security, 404 detection, CSV import/export — works without limits, license keys, or upsells. The plugin is hosted on WordPress.org under the GPL license, which means it's free forever.

Will it slow down my site?

No. Linkrail uses indexed database lookups with WordPress object cache. Average match time is under 1ms. Zero frontend JavaScript or CSS is loaded. The plugin only hooks into template_redirect for matching — there's no overhead on regular page loads.

Is this related to the "Redirection" plugin?

No. Linkrail is an independent, standalone plugin built from scratch. It is not affiliated with, derived from, or endorsed by Redirection or any other existing redirect plugin.

What if I lock myself out by hiding wp-login?

Linkrail provides an emergency recovery URL and IP whitelist so you always have a way back in. The custom slug is also stored as a plain option in your database, so it can be recovered via phpMyAdmin or WP-CLI if needed.

Can I import redirects from another plugin?

Yes. Export your existing redirects as CSV from any other plugin (Redirection, Safe Redirect Manager, etc.) and import them into Linkrail with one click. The CSV format is standard: source, target, type, status_code.

What WordPress versions are supported?

WordPress 5.8 or higher, PHP 7.4 or higher. Tested up to the latest WordPress release. Works on all hosting environments — shared, VPS, managed WordPress, and headless setups.
